OXFORD, Ohio -

Miami University senior Kristina Bolterstein has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Bolterstein, a high jumper from Middleburg Heights, Ohio, is a zoology major and carrier a 3.64 grade point average. A four-time Mid-American Conference high jump champion, Boltsterstein was named an All-American this past spring after finishing in eighth place at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Drake University in Iowa on June 13.

She was previously named All-Midwest Region after placing fifth at the regional championships at the University of Arkansas in May. The senior captured her first MAC outdoor crown this year after winning three-straight conference indoor titles. She is the Miami and MAC record holder in the high jump with a personal best of 6-1 ½. Bolterstein is a five-time member of the Academic All-MAC Team and has been named Academic All-Region the past three seasons.

The alumna of Midpark High School, she graduated this May from Miami.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports.
