ASHLAND, Ohio - Four players from Miami University's softball team were selected to play on the Mid-American Conference All-Star team that played against Team USA on its KFC Bound for Beijing Tour on June 23. Senior Breanna Robinson (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic), sophomore Sarah Billstrom (Douglasville, Ga./Chapel Hill), sophomore Alicia Hogl (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) and freshman Meghan Mawn (Long Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos) all saw action against Team USA's Monica Abbott as the team tuned up for its trip to the 2008 Olympics.

The MAC All-Stars were shut out as Abbott threw a no-hitter en route to a 20-0 victory. Robinson and Hogl each recorded two plate appearances, while Mawn and Billstrom stepped up to the plate once. Robinson was one of just three MAC All-Stars to reach base after being hit by a pitch.

After two scoreless innings, Team USA put a nine-spot on the board in the third inning, before tacking on two runs in the third, four runs in the fifth and five more runs in the sixth to earn the shutout.

Over 4,000 fans came out to watch the contest.
