Miami University's women's basketball program finalized its coaching staff with the hiring of assistant coach Jonelle Streed, head coach Maria Fantanarosa announced on Tuesday.
"Jonelle is full of energy and loves the game," Fantanarosa said. "Her Pac-10 experience with recruiting will be a positive addition to our staff. I look forward to our future!"
Streed recently spent four years at the University of Arizona, including two years as the program's graduate assistant video coordinator, before spending two seasons as an assistant coach for the Wildcats. While at Arizona, Streed was responsible for perimeter player development, recruiting, scouting and floor work.
Prior to her time at Arizona, Streed spent the 2003-04 season as an intern with the Stanford Cardinal where she broke down film, organized film exchange and assisted with recruiting, clinics and camps.
Streed previously coached the St. Cloud Comets AAU team for two years and also served as a camp counselor at the St. Cloud State University, Cambridge Isanti High School (Minn.) and Miller High School (S.D.) camps.
A native of Cambridge, Minn., Streed played collegiate basketball at St. Cloud State from 2000-03, where she played in every game over her four years and set a school record for three-pointers (87). During her senior campaign, Streed was voted team captain and team MVP and in her final game, she posted a career-high 32 points on a career-best seven three-pointers.
Off the court, Streed graduated magna cum laude from St. Cloud State in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and a minor in coaching. She earned a master's degree in educational psychology with a physical education emphasis from the University of Arizona in 2006, also graduating magna cum laude.
In high school, Streed was a Minnesota Miss Basketball Finalist and set the Cambridge-Isanti High School record for career points with 1,799.
