OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University men's cross country team has been honored as a U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Associated All-Academic Team for their tremendous work in the classroom.

Head coach Warren Mandrell's 2007 squad had a team grade point average of 3.26, ranking 32nd in the nation among NCAA Division-1 men's cross country teams.

The RedHawks finished second in the 2007 MAC Championships with junior Pat Sovacool leading the way in fourth place. Miami would later finish ninth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional and Sovacool would qualify for the NCAA Championship and earn individual all-academic honors.

The 2007 RedHawks included senior Michael Veatch, juniors Sovacool and Brad Untrauer, sophomores Sam Cosgrove, Ryan Dezso, Ben Famous, Paul Krebs, Kevin Silver, and Ryan Tamm, and freshman Matt Carney, Chris Dennison, Mike Fakler, Robbie Fisher, Nick Helmuth, Mitchell Heusmann, Adam Martin, and Michael Perry.
