OXFORD, Ohio - The Athlon College Football Preview Magazine's crystal ball reveals that Miami University's football team is its pick to win the 2008 Mid-American Conference East title.

The magazine forecasts that Coach Shane Montgomery's RedHawks will edge out Bowling Green, Buffalo and Kent State to advance to the 2008 MAC Championship Game to face Central Michigan..

Individually, Athlon predicted that senior linebacker Clayton Mullins (Fairborn) would be a first-team all-conference selection and a third-team All-American. Senior punter JAKE RICHARDSON (Oxford), senior offensive tackle Dave DiFranco (LaGrange) and senior linebacker Joey Hudson (Piqua) were chosen on Athlon's second-team MAC all-star squad.

Just more than five weeks remain until Miami's 2008 football campaign begins on August 28 against Southeastern Conference foe Vanderbilt.

The rest of Miami's home schedule finds Charleston Southern (Sept. 13), Temple (Oct. 4), Kent State (Oct. 25), Ball State (Nov. 11) and Ohio (Nov. 28) coming to Oxford.
